Sonja Eckl-Riel

I am trained in various therapies within the field of Special Education and worked with children and young people (3-18 years) experiencing mental, physical and emotional problems. At the Frostig Institute, Los Angeles, I specialised in Behavioural Therapy for children with learning disabilities. Later I spent two years in Munich working with abused children.

In 1993 I qualified as a Shiatsu Therapist at the Thalamus School for Shiatsu and Acupressure, Germany, after I realized how important it is to understand the holistic body, it’s symptoms and it’s language.

I have facilitated seminars for relaxation, combining Gestalt Therapy, Mandala Drawing, Reflexology, Reiki, Meditation and Counselling.

Since the 1980’s I have worked with children and adults.
In 1995 my husband and I moved to Skye, where I gave birth to our son, finding myself in the daily miracle of being a parent.
In 2000 I qualified as a Practitioner of Meridian Therapies with Susan Courtney. I am a licensed Member of the Association of Meridian Therapies in the UK.

In summer 2000 I started setting up “The Health Oasis”, a Centre for Complementary Therapies” in Kyle of Lochalsh.
