A wide spectrum of illness and injury responds to these therapies on a physical and emotional level. They are extremely gentle , non-invasive and effective. First and foremost they promote general improvements in health. They have a positive effect on the nervous system and on other body systems as a result.
A few examples of conditions that respond positively are all physical injuries, stress, migraine and sinus, TMJ syndrome, chronic infections, whiplash and other chronic spinal conditions. Unusual, persistent or chronic problems respond very positively to a mix of these therapies.
A wide group of childhood conditions have been shown to respond well to CranioSacral therapy, eg colic, dyslexia, autism & ADHD. My policy is half price for children as I am more interested in the health of the child.
Allan Thornton has studied CranioSacral Therapy and Somato Emotional Release in Europe and the United States, under the auspices of the Upledger Institute in Palm Beach, Florida. He is grateful to Dr John Upledger for sharing his wide experience while working on intensive programmes at The Upledger Institute. Dr Upledger discovered the brain circulatory system and is thus the founding father of the CranioSacral technique.
Allan is a visiting therapist at the Institute’s Brain and Spinal Cord injuries unit in Florida. He also has experience of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome through working with Vietnam war veterans. Additionally he has worked with autistic children in intensive programmes.
Allan has studied Spiritual Healing in some depth and is a member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers. He works on a voluntary basis for the Inverness National Spiritual Healing Centre. He has been taught most notably by Violet Cochrane, Rosalie Deerheart and Michael Bradford and by Aida Hinojosa of Mt Shasta, California.
While Allan is happy to apply techniques singly he can apply a synthesis of these therapies simultaneously to great effect. His experience means that he has been able to bring relief to a broad spectrum of people and does not see himself as a “specialist” except in the healing arts.
