I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in Perth in the late seventies. After working as a Theatre Staff nurse in Dundee and Hairmyres Hospital, I achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Theatre Nursing in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1984. My last nursing post was in Broadford on the Isle of Skye, stopping nursing in 1985 to raise the first of our three sons.

I still work in the field of conventional medicine as a medical receptionist and dispenser in the surgery in Lochcarron. However, after 12 years of dispensing many thousands of packets of medication, my interest in complementary medicine has grown, with a particular interest in the physical effects of stress and anxiety.
